iciHaiti - Earthquake : The Dominican Navy delivers 70 tons of food to Haiti for the victims
On Friday, Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa the Minister of Defense confirmed in a statement the arrival in Haiti of three ships of the Dominican Navy and the delivery to the port of Jérémie of nearly 70 tons of food, after having received the authorization of the Haitian authorities following established protocols

The statement said the three Navy ships are joining operations led by the United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) to assist those affected by the earthquake, facilitating the arrival of medicine, food and equipment. The San Isidro air base (east of Santo Domingo) has become a center for collecting national and international aid, which is then channeled to the neighboring country.

Note that the Dominican Republic is a signatory of the Cooperation System between the American Air Forces (SICOFAA), so that the country offers its ports, airports and land transport to other countries, such as Switzerland, Cuba, the United States, Puerto Rico, Colombia and Chile, among others, who can help Haiti.

Let's recall in this regard that Dominican President Luis Abinader instructed the armed forces to organize and coordinate an airlift with Port-au-Prince to facilitate the arrival of international aid.
