Friday January 7, 2022, Luz Kurta Cassandra François, the Minister of Tourism, visited the new departure lounge at Toussaint Louverture International Airport https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35602-haiti-pap-airport-inauguration-of-a-new-departure-lounge-for-the-usa.html . This room with a capacity of 500 people including 300 seats, is an initiative which is part of the aim of improving the reception of passengers to the United States, but also to offer better traffic for promotion of local products. As a reminder, a fire had destroyed one of the "duty free" spaces at the airport and these stores https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28828-haitibreaking-news-fire-at-toussaint-louverture-international-airport.html for the most part have been relocated in this more spacious room.

Minister François took the opportunity to meet certain authorities of the National Airport Authority and to visit the reception areas of the Ministry of Tourism for evaluation and future renovation, and to encourage Politour agents in their heavy task.

Note that the Minister of Tourism is working to make Haiti’s regions prime tourist destinations.
