iciHaiti - Insecurity : Students spend the night in the premises of the Faculties of the UEH
The Rectorate informs that the competent authorities of the State University of Haiti have been looking for several weeks at the situation of students who, because of insecurity, spend the night in the enclosure of the Faculties https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36274-haiti-news-zapping.html . "This results in particular in serious problems of hygiene and discomfort, not to mention the negative effects on academic results. The Faculties are not equipped to accommodate these students.

"As soon as the phenomenon appeared in its current dimension, the General Secretariats of all the entities were contacted (letter of January 14, 2022. Ref.: SG/UEH 22240) with a view to contributing to the establishment of a state of places.

"Meetings have been organized at the level of the University Council, the Council of Deans and the Executive Council on this subject. The various structures mobilized have recognized the urgency of finding a rapid solution to this problem, while avoiding favoring hasty approaches, likely to aggravate the phenomenon and which could prove to be counterproductive.

Steps have been taken with various national institutions with a view to finding a lasting and structuring solution, in accordance with the interests of the students concerned and the entire university community.

The Rectorate hopes to be able to announce the results of these steps in the coming days."
