iciHaiti - Anse-à-Veau : Towards the reconstruction of the Boisrond Tonnerre high school
As part of initiatives to support the Great South after the devastating earthquake of August 14, 2021 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34681-haiti-earthquake-latest-assessment-of-civil-protection.html https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34479-haiti-flash-magnitude-72-earthquake-in-the-nippes-updated-10am.html , a partnership is envisaged between the Ministry of National Education and the Rotary Club of Port-au-Prince to rebuild the Boisrond Tonnerre high school in Anse-à-Veau, whose building was completely affected.

A first working meeting chaired by Minister Nesmy Manigat accompanied by his Director of Cabinet Jacques Abraham, the Administrative Director of the Ministry, Paul Henry and representatives of School Engineering was held at the end of March with members of the Rotary management team. in order to take stock of the project and the planned modus operandi.

For Patrick Woolley, President of the Rotary Club of Port-au-Prince, it is important to listen to the institution responsible for managing the education sector in order to follow the procedures to move forward very quickly. in the implementation of the reconstruction project.

While wanting to speed up this process, the Minister Manigat stressed that there were prerequisites before moving on to the construction phase. It is necessary, according to him, to make an inventory of this public school, in particular on the state of the title deeds of the land and the costs of the reconstruction.

Moreover, it is essential, according to him, that the community be involved in the process for its sustainability and its essential support for the protection of this investment in the reconstruction of this high school which will become a heritage of the community of Anse- to-Calf.

In this sense, a mission will be dispatched to the field to carry out this inventory as quickly as possible with the engineers of the School Engineering of the Ministry, promised the Manigat.
