iciHaiti - Miami WTA Final : Naomi Osaka bows to Iga Świątek but keeps smiling (VIDEO)
Saturday in the final of the Masters 1000 WTA in Miami, at Hard Rock Stadium, the 24-year-old Japanese Naomi Osaka (77th WTA), proud of her Haitian origins https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26055-haiti-tennis-the-haitian-japanese-star-naomi-osaka-visiting-haiti.html , after a flawless run, was dominated in the second set by the world #2 Polish Iga Świątek (20 years old) and conceded victory [4-6, 0-6] after 52 minutes of play.

The hoped-for duel between the world #2 and the former #1 could not take place, except only during the first four plays of the first set

A defeat which did not make Naomi lose her newfound smile who declared after the match "This trophy is for all the people who support me, for all my supporters [...] I know that I have not reached this level for a while and I know that today's result is not what you expected. But I have fun on the court."

Note in passing that Naomi received nearly 650,000 US dollars for her participation in the final and her opponent Iga Świątek a little over 1.2 million US dollars for her victory
