Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in Campeche (3rd section of Rivière-Grise in Gros-Morne) in Artibonite, 23 people from the same family were victims of serious accidental poisoning during a meal.

All those who shared the meal suffered severe stomach pains and vomiting and had to be rushed to Alma Mater Hospital in Gros Morne. Among the victims are 4 children and a pregnant woman and several elderly people. Several guests arrived unconscious at the hospital.

The incident happened out of ignorance, the person who was cooking wanting to thicken a pea puree by adding white flour, actually used insecticide. This dangerous product was next to the flour in a container identical and unidentified containing a white powder that can easily be mistaken for flour.

For the moment no loss of life has been reported but it is not known if the vital prognosis is engaged for certain guests who would be in critical condition, according to our information.
