Sunday, September 11, 2022, during a joint operation Me Eno Zéphirin, the Government Commissioner of Fort-Liberté, accompanied by several police officers, arrested in Ouanaminthe 8 members of the "Kokorat san Ras" gang operating in Lacroix Périsse (Dept. Artibonite), when these individuals were preparing to cross the border to take refuge in the Dominican Republic.

They are : Bensia CHARLES (23 years old), Bitsia PIERRE (23); Cherline PIERRE (24); Dina JOSEPH (24), Jean Gardy BENOIT (33), John Peter FLERONVIL (31), Mackensy SIMÉON (23) and Widen JEAN (24).

A 9th member of the gang succeeded in fleeing while the leader of the "Meilleur" gang, thus known, had already taken refuge in the neighboring Republic according to Me Zéphirin.

The Government Commissioner of Fort Liberté, said he was determined to intercept and arrest all bandits seeking to cross the Haitian-Dominican border.
