ici Haiti - Insecurity : The World Bank evacuates its staff from Haiti and closes its offices

In a note dated October 18, 2022, the World Bank Representation in Haiti informs that due to the acute security and humanitarian crisis caused by the blockage of the Varreux oil terminal leading to the paralysis of the country, the staff of the office in Haiti was evacuated out of the country. As a result, the World Bank Office in Haiti has been temporarily closed since October 14 for a period of 30 days.

In addition, we bring to your attention that Mr. Laurent Msellati will continue to assume his duties as Head of World Bank Operations in Haiti remotely and that the country team has organized itself to ensure the continued implementation of the program.
