iciHaiti - Weekly road report : 19 accidents, 72 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the period from October 24 to November 6, 19 accidents on the national territory caused at least 72 victims : 13 dead and 59 injured including several seriously...

This significant drop in road accidents is the consequence of the shortage of fuel, the effects of which translate into a drastic reduction in the number of vehicles on our roads.

Delmas 83, Cayes, Mariani, Chadonèt (Bomon), Archaie, Camp-Perrin, Port-de-Paix, Morne Grand Gilles, Vaudreuil, are the main towns and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Let's recall that this assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents reiterates its call for caution on the roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to behave responsibly to reduce the risk of accidents.
