The Art Center learned belatedly of the death of Haitian painter Edgar Brierre, born in 1933, who died on November 8, 2022 in the United States.

"Edgar Brierre was one of the artists at the Center d'Art. He started visiting our spaces in 1987 on the recommendation of his mentor, Rigot Benoît and his little brother, Murat Brierre.

Edgar was a lover of the Haitian landscape. A love that he did not fail to express in his paintings. He was a painter of landscapes and scenes of Haitian life.

We extend our sincere condolences to his family, loved ones and the art world."
