Young people from the city of Les Cayes of the Observatory of Haitian Youth (OJH), in partnership with the Institute of La Francophonie for Sustainable Development (FDD) of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), the European Union (EU) and the Ministry of the Environment (MoE) are organizing Saturday, April 22, 2023 as part of International Earth Day, a great day of mangrove reforestation, in La Savane aux Cayes.

Let's recall that mangroves rich in seafood are breeding grounds for various species of fish, provide security, livelihoods to coastal populations. Mangroves are an essential element in combating climate change.

Protecting mangroves means protecting people, animals, the sea and plants and all the life that gravitates around them.

This mangrove transplantation initiative launched by the OJH and its partners, is part of the project "Support for the participation and action of young people in favor of the environment and sustainable development".

Young people from Les Cayes, you are expected in large numbers.
