iciHaiti - PNH : Arrest of 2 SOGEBANK employees

On May 4th, 2023, two SOGEBANK employees : Catheline Barochin Director of Operations and Saint Paul Daphkar, Cash Supervisor, were arrested by the Office of Financial and Economic Affairs (BAFE/ Central Directorate of Judicial Police), for thefts, complicity in theft, criminal conspiracy and embezzlement.
They were arrested as part of an investigation by the DCPJ, following several complaints filed by customers of the bank for embezzlement of funds estimated in total at 132,000 US dollars according to the investigation.
The BAFE is continuing its investigations in this case in order to find other accomplices who have had time to abandon their post.
