iciHaiti - EDH : The Carrefour-Feuilles Substation attacked

On the evening of August 14, 2023, heavily armed individuals broke into the Carrefour-Feuilles substation and carried out maneuvers there endangering the operating equipments of the Electricity of Haiti (EDH). The Operations Agent was threatened and forced to leave his post. And had to take refuge in the neighborhood to avoid the worst.

As a result, this substation has become dysfunctional and a good part of the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince is no longer supplied.

EDH apologizes to subscribers of Carrefour-Feuilles, Savanne Pistache, Decayette, Route des Dalles, Rue Fouchard, Fort Mercredi, Rue Mgr Guilloux, Ruelle Laraque, Chemin des Dalles, Place Jérémie, Avenue Magloire Ambroise, Rue Jean Phillipe of its occasional inability to serve them.

Such actions, far from satisfying the electricity needs of local residents, only make the difficulties of EDH more complicated because the operating equipment of the substations is extremely expensive and difficult to repair or even replace.

The EDH launches an urgent appeal to the authorities concerned in order to identify and punish the troublemakers who penalize subscribers as well as the general population.
