iciHaiti - Security : Donation of 20 Toyota Pickups and 250 motorcycles to the PNH
Friday October 27, 2023, the Haitian National Police (PNH), as part of a support program for the PNH initiated by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and by the United Nations Office against Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the PNH received 20 brand new Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup vehicles and 250 motorcycles,

Note that this program is implemented with the collaboration of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), with the technical and financial support of the United States, Canada, Italy, Japan, Germany and member states of the European Union.

During the official handover ceremony of the keys to these rolling stock, the Acting Director General of the PNH, Frantz Elbé, was accompanied by members of the High Command. Emmelie Prophète Milcé the Minister of Justice and Public Security, as well as personalities from the international community such as the Representative of the Secretary General of the UN and head of BINUH, Mrs. María Isabel Salvador, the new Ambassador of Canada to Haiti , André François Giroux, the Representative of the UNDP, Sekou Bankoura, Representatives of the INL and Representatives of the technical and financial partners of this program also took part in this ceremony.

In her speech for the occasion, Maria Isabel Salvador Head of BINUH, declared "We hope that this batch of equipment will increase the capacity of the PNH to fulfill its role of public service, protection of property and people."
