The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH) informs the university community that the School of Law and Economic Sciences of Les Cayes (EDSEC) suspended since April 17, 2023 has returned to the UEH with all the prerogatives and obligations implied by such a status. From now on, it operates under the control and according to the academic, administrative and financial standards established by the governing bodies of the UEH.

For the first time since 2012, the University Council awarded it a financial subsidy for the 2023-2024 financial year.

The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti regrets that such progress could not be obtained at the level of the School of Law and Economic Sciences of Gonaïves (EDSEG), the second entity blacklisted by the consensual resolutions of the Estates General of the UEH of May 2019.

The Rectorate recalls that the main headquarters of this school remains held hostage and that since September 2021 (April 2021 for memories) the academic activities which take place there have not been recognized by any competent body of the University.
