iciHaiti - Social : The Maurice A. Sixto Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary
The Maurice A. Sixto Foundation (FMAS), a secular non-profit institution working in the promotion of Education as a development tool, Haitian Culture, Communication and the protection of Human Rights especially those of children, especially children in domestic service called Restavèk, celebrates its 20th anniversary

Over the past 20 years, FMAS has supported children at various levels : by paying their school fees with the support of its partners, by offering psychological and legal support to child victims of violence, by financially supporting parents to enable them to meet the needs of their offspring, by offering them healthy entertainment so that they can flourish and above all by offering them certain training modules so that they can be fully imbued with their rights and duties in society.

The FMAS has invested over these two decades against the Restavèk phenomenon by organizing awareness sessions and participating in conferences on the phenomenon of children placed in domestic service.

Education being one of the pillars of the Foundation, with the help of local residents and other partners, FMAS built the "Lea Kokoye" municipal school on the ruins of the La Promesse Evangélique college which collapsed in November 2008.

Given the difficult situation in the country, the Foundation wants to be modest in its celebration activities. However, other activities will be organized throughout the year around the theme: "Yon sosyete tou nef pou yon lot jenerasyon moun".
