A delegation of 4 members of the feminist organizations "Nègès Mawon" and "Marijàn", met last week with Sandy François, the Director General of the Ministry for the Status of Women and Women's Rights, in order to officially present her with the "Political Framework for an Effective and Equitable Transition" which was published on July 24, 2024, supported by more than 140 national and international organizations and institutions.

The discussions focused on crucial issues for Haitian women, such as respecting the minimum quota of 30% in all decision-making spaces, adopting gender-based and feminist approaches to resolve the crisis, particularly that of security, establishing equitable and protective measures for women at each stage of the electoral process, establishing effective mechanisms for the observation and accountability of the Multinational Force, and prioritizing women in solutions to the humanitarian crisis in all its dimensions.

Being the central body responsible for defining, designing and implementing the State's policies in the field of women's status and women's rights, the delegation recalled the expectations of Haitian women towards the Ministry.
