iciHaiti - Insecurity : A SWAT Team member fatally injured

The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) learned with deep sadness of the tragic death of Hilaire Esdras, Agent 1, a police officer in the 30th class, assigned to the SWAT Team. He was fatally wounded in the neck during an anti-gang operation in Pacot, downtown Port-au-Prince, on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025.
"In these painful circumstances, the CPT expresses its sincere condolences to the bereaved families and to the entire police force, particularly to his companions in the SWAT unit. The sacrifice made by this valiant son of the Nation, who fell while serving and protecting the Haitian people, is a testament to the courage, commitment, and unwavering dedication demonstrated by our police officers every day.
The CPT respectfully bows to the memory of this hero and renews its support for the police force in its noble mission of restoring and maintaining public safety throughout the country. May his soul rest in peace and may his courage continue to inspire all those who fight to defend our country !"
