iciHaiti - Security : FAA extends ban on PAP flights until September 8, 2025

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announces the extension of the ban on U.S. airline flights at Port-au-Prince's Toussaint Louverture International Airport until September 8, 2025, due to the escalation of gang violence, which the UN human rights expert on the Caribbean country has declared to be more serious than ever.

This ban, which came into effect in November 2024 and has been extended several times, follows incidents caused by armed individuals who opened fire on three commercial aircraft: Spirit Airlines (at least seven hits https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43614-haiti-flash-spirit-airlines-plane-hit-in-flight-by-several-bullets-video.html ), JetBlue (one hit), and American Airlines (one hit) were hit by hostile gunfire in Haiti.
