iciHaiti - ISOC Haiti : Towards training in Artificial Intelligence and Ethics in Haiti
On Sunday, December 13, 2025, the Haitian School on Internet Governance held its 2025 session, bringing together experts, young professionals, and technology enthusiasts around the theme of "Artificial Intelligence and Ethics". The event, organized by the Internet Society Haiti (ISOC Haiti) with the support of the Association for Responsible AI (ARAI), the Higher School of Infotronics of Haiti (ESIH), and the Latin America and Caribbean Network Information Centre (LACNIC), took place both in person and via videoconference, combining presentations, discussions, and interactive exchanges.

The session was opened by Max Larson Henry, President of ISOC Haiti, who highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in sustainable development and technological innovation in Haiti.

Dr. Schallum Pierre, Scientific and Ethics Officer at the Institute for Intelligence and Data, presented the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the ethical challenges associated with its use. He explained how responsible practices can reduce bias, protect user rights, and strengthen trust in emerging technologies.

Federica Tortorella Casilla, Project Manager for Internet Ambassadors, which aims to contribute to digital literacy, explored the infrastructure necessary for AI deployment, highlighting the importance of investing in reliable and secure systems to support technological development.

Presenter Patrick Attié shared local and international AI initiatives and the ethical challenges faced by Haitian and global organizations.

This 2025 session of the Haitian School on Internet Governance enabled 100 young participants to familiarize themselves with best practices in responsible AI, thus strengthening the training of a new generation of digital leaders committed to an ethical and inclusive technological future.
