Security : Inspection visit to recently recovered and secured sites

In line with the consolidation efforts undertaken by the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H), Mario Andrésol, the Minister of Defense, accompanied by several senior officers, conducted an inspection visit on June 4th, 2026, to sites recently cleared of terrorists and secured by the military on Avenue Christophe in downtown Port-au-Prince.

Guided by Captain Brutus, the Minister visited several strategic locations now under FAd’H control, including the Unitech building, the Faculty of Humanities building, the Institute of African Studies and Research, and the facilities of the National Institute of Administration, Management, and Advanced International Studies (INAGHEI).

This tour allowed him to observe the progress made since the deployment of the armed forces in this strategically important area and to appreciate the efforts undertaken to secure it.

During this visit, the Minister also met with officials on the ground to assess the operational needs of the troops engaged in this mission. He commended the professionalism, discipline, and commitment of the soldiers who are contributing to the restoration of State authority and the recapture of lawless areas.
