The Association Vers le Sud pour l’Éducation et la Culture (Towards the South for Education and Culture) is launching a call for applications for photographers residing in Haiti. This rare opportunity combines an artistic residency, immersion in the heart of Macaya National Park, and the transmission of knowledge to the younger generation as part of its “Special Photographic Residency in Macaya National Park” project.

Supported by the REVIV program, funded by the European Union and managed by the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL), this initiative aims to make photography a powerful tool for cultural development and environmental awareness. The selected photographer will be hosted in residence at Camp-Perrin from September 14 to October 14, 2026, with a residency grant of US$1,000.

The residency includes:

- Coverage of professional travel related to the mission;

- Round-trip transportation from the city of residence (by plane if necessary).

The selected photographer will be responsible for:

- Conducting a photographic immersion in Macaya National Park;

- Conducting a workshop for approximately ten young photographers from the cities of Les Cayes and Camp-Perrin.

At the end of this workshop, two participants will be selected to accompany the resident artist on their photographic mission to Macaya National Park.

Artistic Presentation: This residency will culminate in a photographic exhibition focusing on three themes:

1) The beauty and uniqueness of Macaya National Park; 2) Its ecological vulnerability; and 3) The lives of the surrounding communities.

The exhibition will be inaugurated in Les Cayes or Camp-Perrin and will be open to the public and schools.
