Success of the 21st March of Hope

More than 4,800 people, especially school children, participated Sunday in Switzerland on the shores of Lake Geneva, to the 21st March of Hope, in favor this year of Haitian children. By walking 45.000 km in all, they have the hope to receive 500,000 francs (± 500.000 U.S. dollars) of pledges. 5th Edition handisport

Conference-debate "Scars of Dessalines"

The Institute of African Studies and Research of Haiti (IERAH / ISERSS) organizes Wednesday, October 17 at 10:30 am in the auditorium located at 92, corner of the streets Lafleur Duchêne and Avenue Christophe, a conference-debate on the theme "Scars of Dessalines." This debate will be moderated by Dr. Deborah Jenson, a teacher at the "Duke University", Haiti specialist and member of the Research Centre "Haiti Humanities Laboratory" whose work on Haiti are internationally recognized. In addition, she has published several books and papers on Haiti and especially on the meaning of the initiatives of Jean-Jacques Dessalines and Toussaint Louverture.
