iciHaiti - Southeast : Arrest of a scammer 13/07/2025 09:21:28
Marcsène Jean posed as the Departmental Director of the National Intelligence Service (SIN) and launched a fraudulent recruitment process demanding 10,000 Gourdes from each candidate. Following this information gathered by judicial authorities, a search was conducted at his home in the presence of the deputy judge of the Jacmel Peace Court, Gilbert Monézil. During this search, the authorities seized a large quantity of materials proving the fraud, including several falsified registration forms, 14 fake SIN badges, as well as two tear gas grenades, a pair of handcuffs, a ballistic helmet, a tactical belt, a balaclava, a motorcycle, a laptop, 84 counterfeit US $100 bills, and 48,425 gourdes.
