Investigators from the Southeast Departmental Judicial Police Service arrested Marcsène Jean, 42, for fraud and misappropriation of title.

Marcsène Jean posed as the Departmental Director of the National Intelligence Service (SIN) and launched a fraudulent recruitment process demanding 10,000 Gourdes from each candidate. Following this information gathered by judicial authorities, a search was conducted at his home in the presence of the deputy judge of the Jacmel Peace Court, Gilbert Monézil. During this search, the authorities seized a large quantity of materials proving the fraud, including several falsified registration forms, 14 fake SIN badges, as well as two tear gas grenades, a pair of handcuffs, a ballistic helmet, a tactical belt, a balaclava, a motorcycle, a laptop, 84 counterfeit US $100 bills, and 48,425 gourdes.

For the time being, Marcsène Jean has been taken into custody for appropriate legal action.
