24th Conference of Heads of State of the CARICOM

The 24th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) will be held on 18 and 19 February 2013 at Karibe Convention Center. Remember that Haiti ensures since last January the presidency of the CARICOM composed of 14 Member States and six Associated States.

Cuban Medical Brigade in Haiti

At a recent Assembly the Cuban Medical Brigade in Haiti has ratified the commitment to continue its excellent work with new objectives for 2013. Ricardo Garcia, Ambassador of Havana to Port-au-Prince called professionals of his country "to continue to provide quality health care to the people of Haiti," The Cuban medical brigade is present and works with 91 health units, whose 66 are part of the program Cuba-Venezuela, including 23 community reference hospitals.

Provisional balance of 3 days of National Carnival

ccording to a preliminary balance of the Departmental Directorate of the Ministry of Health 856 people were injured slightly, about 22 people received injuries more severe, requiring interventions. No loss of life is to be deplored.

300 children from IDP camps celebrated the Carnival

300 children from 5 IDP camps partied, Friday, February 9 in the GARR gardens to Christ-Roi, during the carnival period. 180 girls and 134 boys disguised have danced to the rhythm of music carnival offered by a DJ. Children are left pleased with refrains of carnival on the lips.
