The security of Aristide was a courtesy

Me Kedlaire Augustin, Spokesman of the Prime Minister confirms the recall of the security of President Aristide and recalls that as a former Head of State, Jean-Bertrand Aristide was entitled to official security during the 5 years following his presidency, stressing that it is by courtesy, that the Haitian authorities left him this privilege, adding that it would be inconsistent that a citizen in conflict with the law as to be the subject of an arrest warrant to be protected by law enforcement.

Opening of five emergency shelters

Tuesday, September 16, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) will to the opening ceremony of five temporary shelters built for emergencies and evacuation of vulnerable to natural hazards. The project, implemented in three departments of Haiti by IOM, was funded by the Inter-American Development Bank through the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) as part of a support to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Haitian state.
