The Head of Mission at the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami, Stéphane Gilles welcomes the election, Tuesday, November 4, of the Haitian-American Smith Joseph as Mayor of North Miami with 55% of votes against his rival Kevin Burns. While congratulating Mr. Joseph for this victory, Stéphane Gilles hopes that his election to the City of North Miami improve the already cordial relations between the institution and the Haitian community. The Head of Mission take this opportunity to express the pride of the Haitian community in Miami to see one of their own access once more to this noble function.
Meeting between Dinepa and the World Bank
On Tuesday, the engineer Benito Dumay, the Director General of the National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation (Dinepa), the Head of the Unit of Strategic orientation Lesly Dumont, the Administrative Director, Yves Fonrose, the Assistant technical director and project engineer Michael Birch have met with officials from the World Bank (WB).
A delegation of the IMF at Ministry of Finance
Monday was held a working meeting at Ministry of Economy and Finances (MEF) around the 8th review of the program supported by an Extended Credit Facility (ECF), with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Gabriel DiBella, the Chef de Mission for Haiti.
Haiti at the World Travel Market (London)
Haiti participates from 3 to 6 November at the World Travel Market in London. On the sidelines of the event, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTCI) will meet: the CEO of Apple Leisure Group, Alex Zozaya; Officials of the World Organization of Toursim (WTO), Taleb Rifai (SG) and Carlos Vogeler; the Co-founder and Vice Chairman of Digicel, Mr. Leslie Buckley and Hugh Riley of the "Caribbean Tourism Organization" around some tourism projects. She will also meet with the Minister of Tourism English and held working meetings with several European tour operators.
World Bank and State Reform
Tuesday, Michel Présumé, the Secretary of State for Planning, accompanied by Giovanni Dorélien, Director General of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, met with a delegation from the World Bank around the reforms initiated by the Haitian State.
