iciHaiti - Social : Success of the swimming program for disabled

Monday, the Office of Public Affairs of the Embassy of the United States of America has successfully completed an adaptive swimming program for 10 Haitian youth. Nine of the ten participants had never swum before, and during the demonstration program at the Embassy the children impressed the audience with their new-found skills, proving that there is no limit to the human capacity to overcome.
This program was supported by many volunteers and institutions, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, the National Swimming Federation, the Haitian Federation of Associations and Institutions of Disabled People of Haiti, Professional Swim Instructor Nikki Whitlock and Rodrigo Brenes of US Agency for International Development (USAID).
