Since the beginning of November 2026, the Government, through the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), has been intensifying its social interventions across the entire country to provide aid to the most vulnerable families.

The opening of a community kitchen in Les Coteaux allows for the preparation and distribution of 1,000 hot meals daily for the benefit of the most vulnerable individuals.

In the South Department, several operations to distribute food kits and ready-to-eat (no-cook) meal kits have already been carried out—notably in Tiburon, Les Anglais, Chardonnières, and Les Cayes, specifically in the areas of Mercy, Fonfrède, and La Savane. Distributions were also organized at the sites of the Sainte-Marie Hospital and Sogesol.

Through this mobilization, the Government aims to provide concrete support to families facing hardship and to address the essential needs of the population. Beyond the kits being distributed, this effort conveys a message of solidarity, closeness, and care for those who are most vulnerable.
