Friday at the border with Jimani, Haitian threw stones and other objects on the inspectors of the General Directorate of Migration of the Dominican Republic as well as on the military of "Cuerpo Especializado de Seguridad Fronteriza" (Cesfront) which have prevented them from entering Dominican territory, because they did not have their documents in order. It is noted that the CESFRONT also prevented Dominicans traveling to Haiti for the same reasons.
The incident temporarily paralyzed the binational market and caused an increase in border patrols. The Dominicans attribute this aggressiveness to some media Haitians in Haiti who constantly spreading false information, inflaming hatred toward Dominicans.
