On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs Raina Forbin held a videoconference with Noemí Espinoza Madrid, Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), to discuss prospects for strengthening cooperation between Haiti and the countries of the Greater Caribbean.

The discussions provided an opportunity to review the progress made in implementing the Regional Action Plan for Haiti. During the exchange, the Minister reaffirmed the Haitian government’s commitment to promoting a paradigm shift in international cooperation by prioritizing sustainable development, productive investment, and the strengthening of national capacities, rather than an approach based exclusively on emergency aid.

The Minister notably advocated for better coordination between international interventions and national priorities.

This meeting reflects Haiti’s desire to consolidate its partnership with the ACS and to turn regional cooperation into a genuine catalyst for economic recovery and sustainable development.
