iciHaiti - Diplomacy : The Ambassador of Haiti in DR suspended
Wednesday, Daniel Supplice, the Ambassador of Haiti to the Dominican Republic in office since last April, confirmed that the Government of Haiti had removed him from office without being able to tell if it was a temporary suspension or not. Daniel Supplice will be back in Haiti Fraiday, while the charge d'affaires Magalie Jeanty Magloire will ensure the interim at the Embassy of Haiti in Santo Domingo.

In the absence of explanation or official announcement of the Government of Haiti, one can assume that this suspension comes after several public statements of the Ambassador of Haiti, on the failure of Identification Program and
Documentation of Haitian Immigrants (PIDIH) where he stated inter alia, "We are responsible for what is happening today with our fellow [...] If we do not manage to identify our citizens at home, I do not see how we could have done elsewhere [...]" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14432-haiti-politic-failure-of-pidih-a-fiasco-of-$2-million.html . Born February 9, 1951 in Port-au-Prince, Daniel Supplice is a sociologist and ethnologist. He studied at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and the Faculty of Ethnology of the State University of Haiti. He graduated from the School of Sociology of the University of Miami. In 1973 he was Consul General in Tokyo (Japan), then First Secretary of the Embassy of Haiti in Rome (1974-1976). Subsequently he held the position of First Secretary at the Embassy of Haiti in Mexico (1976-1977), of Deputy Director General of Immigration and Emigration (1977-1979) and Assistant Secretary of State for the Interior and National Defence (1979-1981). He was also Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE).
