Following the 45th conference of the association of university libraries, of research and institutional of the Caribbean (ACURIL), Haiti has been designated as the host country of the 46th Conference to be held from 5 to 9 June 2016 at the Karibe Hotel in Petion-ville on the general theme "Leadership: a bridge between tradition and innovation in libraries, archives and museums in the Caribbean".

Each day a different sub-theme will be treated :

- Lessons from the past: recognize the leaders of Caribbean libraries

- Leadership Capacity Development

- Best practices in innovation in the Caribbean

A local organizing committee is already in place to manage the practical details of the conference : participant registration, supervision of hotel reservations, scheduling of visits, communicating important information about the holding of the conference as the various calls for proposals and due dates for the presentation of submission among others.

Note that since last June, Dr. Elizabeth Pierre-Louis Augustin, Director of Program at FOKAL, is the new President of the ACURIL [term of one year] to replace the outgoing President Jane W. F. Smith, Director of the library of the University of Suriname.
