iciHaiti - FLASH: The bridge of Croix-des-Missions sags 10 cm ! (UPDATE 3h25 pm)
Tuesday night, Rothchild François Jr. Minister of Communication, went in emergency on the bridge of Croix-des-Missions (Rivière Grise) with its Director General Calvin Cadet, and Joiséus Naderof the Ministry of Public Works.

"Contrary to rumors, the bridge of Croix-des-Missions did NOT collapsed, but suffered a displacement corresponding to a drop of 10 centimeters," the officials said.

Pending to know the cause of this movement and to make a fix if possible, the Bridge of Croix-des-Missions is closed to traffic until further notice. All drivers who go in the North, in the center, use the Route 9 or through Tabarre, Croix-des-Bouquets Road.

UPDATE 3h25 pm :
This afternoon Rothchild François Jr. announced "The Bridge on the Croix-des-Missions is currently closed to traffic. Meanwhile, alternative routes are to borrow. It's nothing serious, it's a joint (rotule) that dropped at the bridge [...] The engineers of TPTC reassure, however, for security reasons, the bridge was closed to traffic until the appropriate repairs. The bridge is 54 years old. A tender was launched for the construction, shortly, of a new bridge, ont 60 meters of the crossing. MTPTC is currently on site for creating an alternative route to facilitate the movement of vehicles."
