iciHaiti - Social : Substantial progress of the DINEPA

Since 2010, the Prevention Centers for Infectious Disease Control (CDC) support the work of the National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation (DINEPA), to whom they have just awarded the CDC Adward.

Despite major obstacles, DINEPA has made substantial progress in the coordination of drinking water and sanitation activities including the establishment of regional offices in 4 major regions, the creation of 10 rural departmental units and the establishment of a training program for technicians in water and sanitation.

Recall that in 2008, only 52% of Haitians had access to clean water. In 2014, through the leadership of DINEPA, this figure rose to 62%.
