Following the inauguration of works of Avezac https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15164-haiti-agriculture-the-avezac-irrigation-channels-rehabilitated.html , Fresner Dorcin, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development, participated in a signing session of three agreements that should come in support to farmers in the South.

First, the agreement signed with the Développement International Desjardins (DID), which will provide a funding and initiate agricultural insurance in the South;

Then, with the World Food Programme (WFP) an agreement that will enable farmers' organizations to have a secure market for their agricultural production. The products that will be harvested in Les Cayes region will enter directly in school canteens and local consumption;

Finally, in order to develop a social engineering service around the irrigated areas, the Minister Dorcin signed a contract with TERO, a service that will allow to collect royalties and ensure the cleaning and management of the irrigated perimeter.
