iciHaiti - Justice : 20th anniversary of the School of Magistrates

Friday, as part of the 20th anniversary of the School of Magistrates (EMA) [created November 7, 1995], many personalities took part in a Mass of thanksgiving in the courtyard of the institution in Frères, among others, Me Jules Cantave, the President of the Court of Cassation and of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Me Kesner Michel Thermezi, Director General of EMA, Me Bernard St-Vil, Dean of the Tribunal of First Instance (TPI) of Port-au-Prince and that of Croix-des-Bouquets, Me Lionel Dimanche as well as lawyers, executives of CSPJ and foreign aid workers.

Members of the Presidential Commission for Judicial Reform including Me Jean Vandal and former Justice Minister of Justice Jean Joseph Exumé, also participated in the ceremony held with the participation of students-magistrates orming the 6th promoting currently in training in EMA.

During the ceremony, several personalities and members of the small school staff were awarded with plaques of honor for their contribution to the smooth running of the institution.. This is the case of the former Minister of Justice and Public Security Jean Joseph Exumé, under the Administration of which this institution was founded in 1995 and the president of the National Association of Haitian Magistrates Me Durin Duret Jr. Former General Director of the School, Me Constant Bourguoin.
