On Thursday, a meeting was held at the company Sisal Co. in Phaéton in the presence of representatives of farmers and stakeholders in the agricultural sector, in the perspective of restart production of sisal in the North East.

The realization of this project involving 4,000 hectares, must pass beforehand by a social and environmental impact study, which aims to identify risks and propose a management plan to minimize the negative effects. Two consultants were hired to conduct this study, which will last about 4 months.

This meeting was followed by a factory tour to observe the manufacturing process and the realization of products made from sisal.
