According Jean Osselin Lambert, the Director a.i. of the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) of the Ministry of Interior, "Today, an average of six weeks is necessary from the submission of correct documents, for delivery of a passport in renewal. It takes 8 weeks for a first application and 3 to 6 months for a passport lost [...]"

Regarding the time required to obtain a passport, the Director Lambert explained that it depended on "on the duration to intersect the applicant's information with organizations databases such as the National Archives, the Haitian National Police and Interpol among others, to check their veracity and authenticity prior to the production of the travel document requested [...]"
