iciHaïti - Washington : A Haitian delegation at the International Reading Summit
From 7 to 9 September in Washington DC, a Haitian delegation composed among others by Miloody Vincent, Director of Communication of the Ministry of Education, Guy Serge Pompilus, Director of Training and Development, Marie Zulda Dubois of the Directorate of Vocational Training, Johnny Antoine of the Directorate of curriculum and quality and Claudin St Jour of the Directorate of basic education, participates in the Reading Summit, alongside representatives of countries of Asia, Africa and the Americas. The summit is organized by the Global Reading Network with the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

Successes and challenges for improving reading learning were at the center of exchanges of the 1st day. Guy Serge Pompilus presented the situation in Haiti and the ongoing efforts to improve the learning of reading, which is a national cause.

The second day which was held at the library of Congress, focused particularly on exchanges and sharing of experiences in education with countries delegates and team of USAID.

Friday, 3rd and final day of the summit, work will continue around learning in reading, of new challenges and perspectives for the coming years.

Note that national assize on reading, writing and mathematics will take place in Haiti from 13 to 15 September in Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haitien.
