Friday, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela sent from La Guaira, State of Vargas, the third cargo of humanitarian aid to Haiti following the passage of Hurricane Matthew.

Nestor Reverol the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace said the cargo is 660 tons and includes various essential commodities including 450 tons of machinery that will be used to remove debris, rehabilitation of roads, bridges and infrastructures.

Also were sent 90 tons of non-perishable foods and medicines, supplies, tents, blankets and drinking water.

The Haitian Ambassador in Caracas, Lesly David thanked the Venezuelan Government for their support and stressed that "[...] it looks like the 'Expedición de los Cayos' but in reverse, because now it is Venezuela that helps Haiti. In the words of commander Hugo Chavez love with love is paid and Venezuela was the first to help Haiti. Thank you very much."
