iciHaiti - FLASH : The Ministry confirms the resumption of school activities 10/10/2016 09:14:40
The Minister Dorsonne recommends that school principals and teachers to organize, during the first week of relaunch, educational activities around oragans and their impact on Haitian society with a look at the consequences of Matthew and the necessary solidarity between citizens to recover. A psychosocial support for students of hard-hit regions as well as for the teaching and administrative staff is also envisaged by the Ministry. Regarding the disaster areas, the Government is preparing to launch the school infrastructure rehabilitation projects to facilitate the resumption of classes in the best delay. Cost estimates and of necessary inputs is already completed in this direction. About 300 schools were damaged (partially or totally), according to the first data provided by field missions in the most affected departments.
