The French Red Cross in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross sent an Emergency Response Unit (ERU) in the area most affected by the Hurricane, to the west of department of Grande Anse, in order to realize mobile clinic activities with isolated populations.

This ERU will work with the Ministry of Health and the Haitian Red Cross, to provide isolated communities, whose dispensaries have been damaged or destroyed emergency health care such as treatment of trauma and minor injuries, vaccinations against tetanus, basic prenatal care, treatment of common infections in adults and children, treatment of chronic diseases...

The Emergency Response Team will also conduct prevention activities to reduce the risk of cholera transmission.
