iciHaiti - Social : Post-Matthew situation, some figures
Following the passage of devastating hurricane Matthew on Haiti, on 4 and 5 October, in the latest report of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Haiti realized in collaboration with humanitarian partners, we retained some figures summarizing the post-Matthew situation for the period from 19 to 21 October 2016 :

894,057 children are affected;
112,500 children under five are at risk of acute malnutrition;
2,271 suspected cholera cases reported between 4 and 19 October;
806,000 people need immediate food assistance;
36 health centers were destroyed;
2.1 million people are affected (Source UN and government);
1.4 million people need humanitarian assistance (Source UN and Government)
175,509 people are currently displaced in shelters (Source UN and Government).
