El-Mostafa Benlamlih was appointed Representative of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH), Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Haiti, on 23rd January by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

El-Mostafa Benlamlih has 32 years of experience in the UN System having worked in both development and humanitarian affairs.

He just completed a Resident Coordinator ad interim appointment in Egypt from May to December 2016 and he was previously deployed as Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator ad interim in Sudan.

El-Mostafa Benlamlih has been also a UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator in Indonesia and Côte d’Ivoire, served as UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. He also served as Deputy Director ad interim of the UNDP Regional Bureau of Arab States.

Benlamlih is married with three children. He speaks French, English and Arabic. He holds a doctorate and post-graduate diploma in Economics from the University of Grenoble (France) and a bachelor in Economics from the University Mohammed V (Morocco).
