iciHaiti - Education : Towards the National Assessment of School Achievement

Officials from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and of the Project Coordination Unit (UCP) of the Ministry of National Education, met to review the different stages of the process of national evaluation of school achievement 2017 in the 4th and 7th fundamental year and on the issue of the accountabily by the Departmental Directorates of Education (DDE).

A one-week training is planned for DDE administrators and national evaluation focal points to ensure that reports are ready on time.

The national assessment is a vital step for the improvement of the quality of education and the preparation of students for other international tests such as the International Program for the Monitoring of Student Achievement (PISA) to measure the performance of the education systems of countries.

The results of the evaluation will serve to inform the authorities in their decision-making.

Participated among otehrs to this meeting : the National Assessment Team (UCP) led by Wilnor Pierre, the Haitian Institute of Education in Education Sciences (IHFOSED) as a contract firm working with the NGO IEA (Institute for Educational Achievement) as a firm providing international expertise.
