iciHaiti - Heritage : International Day for Monuments and Sites
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Culture and Communication (MCC), together with the Institute for the Safeguarding of National Heritage (ISPAN), the Ministry of Tourism and the National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE), launched a series of activities to mark the celebration of the International Day for Monuments and Sites (IDMS) around the theme "Cultural Heritage & Sustainable Tourism".

A major exhibition on the historical heritage of Haiti was opened at the BNE Museum; This Thursday, April 20, a conference-debate is planned at Quisqueya University under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism. On Friday in Cap-Rouge(South-East), the MCC, the Ministry of Tourism and ISPAN will organize a training workshop for young people of the Social Organization for the Development of Fort-Oge (OSODEFO).

The Ministry of Culture takes this opportunity to invite everyone to work for the respect, protection, conservation and enhancement of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Haiti.

The International Day of Monuments and Sites, which was initiated in 1982 by UNESCO, aims to explore the cultural heritage of mankind in its various forms and to encourage local communities to become aware of the importance of the place of historical relics of a society in the socio-cultural development of the country in solidarity.
