iciHaiti - Weather : Two victims per drowning in the South
The torrential rains that struck several departments of the country, particularly in the South on April 21, 22 and 23, caused the death by drowning of a septuagenarian bedridden, surprised by the waters in a small house near the sea, Downtown of Port-Salut. A young man of 19 years also died drowned in Camp-Perrin, trying to cross the gully of the Sud in flood, by motorcycle.

Due to the rise of the waters on the coast and in places inside the towns, the local authorities carried out evacuations. In Maniche, some fifty families were moved to the national schools of Melon and Dory. Similarly, the Town Hall of Port-Salut carried out the evacuation of families, exposed following a landslide in the locality of Dumont.

In addition, technicians from the Ministry of Public Works Transport and Communication (TPTC) continue their work, particularly at Arniquet, Port-Salut, Port-a-Piment and Saint-Jean du Sud, where several sections of roads have been affected at different levels.
