Lesly Condé, the Consul General of Haiti in Chicago, made it his duty to remind fellow of all the Midwest that this Thursday May 18, 2017 brings back the 214th anniversary of the creation of the Haitian flag.

In the spirit of the commemoration of this anniversary, the Consulate will collaborate on Saturday 20 May with the Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti at the 11th Annual Gala of this organization, whose theme will be "All haitians for a better Haiti" which will be held at the Edwards Hotel Penthouse, located at 6600 Manheim Rd., Rosemont, Il. During this Gala, dedicated to our bicolour, the Consul Condé will speak to emphasize the importance of our bicolor and the place that it occupies in the history of humanity.

On Sunday, May 21, the Haitian Catholic Mission of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Consulate General of Haiti invite all the brothers and sisters of the Community, of all religious denominations, to a Solemn "Te Deum" Mass to be celebrated at 5:30 pm at Notre-Dame de la Paix Church, located at 7801 South Jeffery, Chicago.

After the religious ceremony a reception will be offered in the basement of the Church.

The Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago encourages all Haitians and friends of Haiti to come in great numbers to pay tribute to our national emblem, symbol of our fraternity and resilience.
