Aviol Fleurant, the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, participated this week in the restitution workshop of the United Nations Framework for Sustainable Development (2017-2021).

In his remarks, he stressed the need to "seek more synergies and strategic links between humanitarian and development" in order to strengthen the resistance capacities of the most vulnerable.

Given the state of the country's environment, Minister Fleurant believes that "emergency and humanitarian actions will continue to be required, however medium- and long-term development solutions are essential to address the structural causes of vulnerability and resilience of the most vulnerable in Haiti."
